This 5 CMTE presentation by Cassie DePriest, MT-BC and Maddie DePriest, MT-BC will provide attendees with an opportunity to further build their skills while working with autistic clients.

Learner Objectives:

  1. Participant will identify the prevalence of individuals with an autism diagnosis that are also at risk of a motor disability.
  2. Participant will identify why standardized assessments can be misleading within the treatment planning process.
  3. Participant will identify and be able to demonstrate two treatment strategies that can support a client who is struggling with the neuromotor differences common in nonspeaking autism.
  4. Participant will be able to explain the purpose of thigmotaxis for individuals with sensory and neuromotor differences.
