Keys to Connection: The Piano as a Therapeutic Tool in Music Therapy

Participants will develop functional piano skills for clinical music therapy practice, including accompaniment, improvisation, and the intentional use of musical elements to support therapeutic goals. Emphasis will be placed on adapting piano techniques to meet diverse client needs and designing effective, evidence-based piano interventions across clinical settings.

This course is approved by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) for 4 continuing music therapy education credits. The Music Therapy Association of North Carolina provider #P-252 maintains the responsibility for program quality and adherence to CBMT policies and criteria.
