This 5 CMTE presentation by Cassie DePriest, MT-BC and Maddie DePriest, MT-BC will provide attendees with an opportunity to further build their skills while working with autistic clients.
Learner Objectives:
Participant will identify the prevalence of individuals with an autism diagnosis that are also at risk of a motor disability.
Participant will identify why standardized assessments can be misleading within the treatment planning process.
Participant will identify and be able to demonstrate two treatment strategies that can support a client who is struggling with the neuromotor differences common in nonspeaking autism.
Participant will be able to explain the purpose of thigmotaxis for individuals with sensory and neuromotor differences.
