Full Time (40 hrs/wk) usually 8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday

Description:                  
Music Therapist will take over established music therapy department, lead group and individual sessions, complete necessary documentation in timely fashion, participate in community awareness events concerning music therapy, and assist with activities when needed.  Music therapist will be an advocate for residents and will work enthusiastically with an interdisciplinary team to achieve the highest level of care.  Music therapist will also conduct in-services for Valley Nursing Center employees on the effects/benefits of music therapy as well as how music therapy relates to their roles in resident care.  Individual must be responsible, flexible, self-motivated, creative, and have a passion for working with the elderly population.

Population:                 
Valley Nursing Center has three units (1) short term rehabilitation with elderly (2) long term care (3) ventilator unit.  In addition, the music therapist may be asked to provide sessions for hospice/palliative care residents.
